Why do I do what I do? Because I was my first client.
I was an editor leading big teams with big budgets in a male-dominated industry, I used my clothes to give me confidence when I had to walk into rooms no one expected me to be in.
And I also used them to get noticed; and the media opportunities, presenting gigs, podcast interviews and consulting work started coming in as a result of having a recognisable personal brand.
But I wasn’t always ‘stylish’. Growing up, I had a terrible relationship with my body which permeated into adulthood. I overconsumed fashion as a way to live out a ‘one day’ fantasy… and ended up with a wardrobe full of clothes and nothing to wear, constantly talking myself out of opportunities too.
